If you're studying Chinese calligraphy, this thread-bound fatie book, Ling Fei Jing Scholar Portrait, belongs on your desk. Thread binding lets the book open flat, which matters when you're copying strokes. Inside you'll find scholar portrait and red seal — a proper Chinese fatie practice book for daily practice. A bit of maobi brush here keeps the pages from feeling plain. Practice a page a day and watch it pay off.
Throughout, aged paper resting comfortably beside Ling Fei Jing. With pine this clean, the book does its job as a Chinese brush calligraphy study book. Unhurried and methodical — a study companion in the true sense. Look for scholar portrait worked tastefully into the margins. The pages invite daily return visits.
Carry it to class or keep it at home; the format suits both. Students of calligraphy will find it genuinely useful. Ling Fei Jing Scholar Portrait closes the case — a Chinese calligraphy book for the study with nothing to prove. Take it up and practice on.
