This is the pot you buy for the tea, and keep for the way it looks on the table. You can see the fish engraving clearly in the main image, exactly as it arrives. Check the photos for the bamboo handle; it is finished neatly and sits naturally in the design. At 280cc, it is sized for small gatherings of two or three.
The pot is red clay, fired to a warm tone that suits black teas and roasted oolongs. The bamboo styling gives this pot a silhouette you will recognize across the table. In practice, yixing clay softens harsh edges in tea, rounding out each steeping. Compact size keeps water hot and opens leaves fast, which makes daily brewing just a little easier. Walls are thick enough to hold temperature across a long session. The clay remembers every tea, so the hundredth pot tastes better than the first — the photos do not exaggerate.
A pot like this turns a habit into a ritual. The kind of teapot that makes the whole ritual feel a little more deliberate. A gift that says you understand someone's tea habit.
