This one belongs in the daily rotation, not behind glass. Among the details in the photos, the flat stands out without shouting. The lotus leaf sets this one apart from plainer pieces in the same range. Pouring 300cc at a time, it serves small gatherings of two or three well.
The clay is purple clay, the Yixing standard prized for its balanced, forgiving character. The lotus form keeps the profile distinctive without getting in the way of the pour. Look closely and the fine grain of the clay gives a smooth, comfortable hand-feel. Foot ring is trimmed clean with the maker's stamp underneath — the photos do not exaggerate. Handle stays cool enough to hold through a full session. The compact size means less water wasted warming the pot — simple, and exactly right.
The kind of teapot that makes the whole ritual feel a little more deliberate. A practical pot with enough character to start conversations. It arrives ready to season, and the first pot of tea is on you. Your tea routine is about to get a small but real upgrade.
